The Neighborhood That Shows Up
What does it mean to belong to a community? It means being there for each other, especially during tough times. In Brooklyn, this spirit is strong. You see it in neighbors who look out for one another, in local businesses that remember your name, and now, in a cancer care center created for the people who live here. At The Brooklyn Cancer Center (TBCC), belonging is more than just a value. It is a promise that shapes every appointment, every treatment, and every conversation our team has with our patients.
For a long time, people in Brooklyn who were diagnosed with cancer had to leave their borough to get the care they needed. Traveling to Manhattan or other places for treatment added stress, took up time, and made people feel separated from their community. TBCC was created to change this. We are located at 86 Fleet Place, Brooklyn, NY 11201. We were formed through a partnership between New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) and The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC). TBCC brings the exceptional cancer care Brooklyn has always deserved, right at home.
This partnership is more than just an agreement between organizations. It is a shared promise to care for Brooklyn’s communities now and in the future. NYCBS brings years of cancer care experience and a strong national reputation, while TBHC offers its long history within the borough and its people. Together, they have created a center where advanced medicine and real compassion come together, so patients do not have to choose between top-quality care and staying close to home.
Our doctors, nurses, and staff work together to create personalized treatment plans for every patient. Whatever kind of cancer you have, we are there to help and support you. This gives patients access to the latest cancer treatments, including new therapies and clinical trials that bring the newest advances in oncology to Brooklyn. Our team cares for the whole person, not just the illness, and considers each patient’s medical, emotional, social, and practical needs.
Our team’s support goes far beyond medical treatment. From the moment someone is diagnosed, our care coordinators and patient navigators work to make things easier. They help with scheduling, insurance, transportation, and emotional support, because we understand that cancer affects every part of a person’s life. Our team takes this responsibility seriously, and it shows in the strong relationships they build with each patient.
Cancer can affect anyone, and our commitment to care is just as broad. We are proud to offer affordable and accessible treatment options that reflect Brooklyn’s diversity. Whether a patient speaks English, Spanish, or any other language found in our borough, our team is ready to meet them where they are and ensure they feel seen, heard, and supported.
Brooklyn has always been a place where people support each other. TBCC is proud to continue that tradition by bringing together a top-notch team, a caring approach, and a strong commitment to our community. If you or someone you love needs cancer care, you should not have to leave home. We are here, we are ready, and we are honored to be with you every step of the way.
