Talha Shaikh, MD, MBA is the Chief of Radiation Oncology at NY Cancer & Blood Specialists

Dr. Shaikh obtained his Medical Doctorate (MD) from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed his residency training at the NCI-designated cancer center, Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA where he also served as chief resident. Simultaneously, Dr. Shaikh completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Fox School of Business-Temple University.

Dr. Shaikh has expertise in the use of 3D-conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and brachytherapy.

Dr. Shaikh has been honored with many awards including the ASCO Conquer Cancer Foundation Merit Award, ASTRO Annual Meeting Travel Award, and ESMO European Lung Cancer Conference Travel Award. He has been invited to give oral presentations at various international conferences and has served as a co-author in numerous publications including research published in JAMA, JAMA Oncology, European Urology, International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics, and Journal of Thoracic Oncology.

He is affiliated with the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS), American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) and Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).

Prior to joining NYCBS, Dr. Shaikh was the Medical Director of Virtua Health System in Willingboro, NJ. Dr. Shaikh speaks multiple languages, including Hindi and Urdu.
